Default Lift Shifting vs Full Throttle Shifting

Here is an argument ive been having between friends for a while. Do you think lift shifting is slower than full throttle shifting? Lets hear your opinions. I think full throttle shifting is faster than lift shifting.

Of course full throttle is faster.
But some people can lift shift pretty damn fast also.
This season will be my first year at full throttle shifting.
Should be fun.

not lifting off the loud pedal in a SFWD type car is good for at least 1 tenth, possibly more

harder on parts though so give and take in every situation i guess

And you can keep the boost up with some form of antilag rev limiter in between shifts

Full throttle shifting doesn't always work in some scenarios (i.e. when you spin a lot, it only makes it worse and ends up costing time). Lift shifting is perfectly fine in an NA car for this reason:

You can only press and depress the clutch pedal so fast in either shifting method, so that time is always fixed unless you change something in that system.

Therefore, with an engine that never deals with positive pressure (boost), it doesn't matter what you do.

when i was using a syncro box, mine always ran better full throttle. only problem was that i was actually craming it into gear before the clutch was released. i was going through syncros in about 3 races. it was just a timing issue. i changed to a 3/4" master so it would realease quicker and it worked just fine.

Its all in the driver. If you can't shift worth a ****, its kind of pointless.

Where do I go about getting one of those master cylinders?

I went 12.1 @114 lifting...i went back to the track and went 11.80@115 not lifting. Same boost levels, same 60'. I could have went faster if i didnt shift early. This is a on a single cam with BW S258 at 14psi. I would say keep ur foot to the floor its worth it.

I dont notice any difference in my times when i full throttle or lift. Times were consistant.

I have gone faster in other peoples cars full throttle shifting on my first pass in their cars. Once you have the timing down and learn where the clutch engages and disengages your good to go, so long as you know who to shift. The only downside to it is that you will go through parts faster than you would like.

My master is a tilton. The same one theat comes in their kit with the hydraulic slave cylinder. The kit comes with an adaptor for the firewall, but I had the master so I made my own firewall adaptor. The Omnipower one should work, it is just expensive.

Ofcourse FTS is faster than lifting, and alot of ECU's have a feature to cut spark in a FTS so that its easier on parts.
