From what ive read on various forums the mahle pistons dont last. Like 30k miles tops because the coating they have on them that makes them compatible with the FRM sleeves wears off. I dont think the cylinder walls are what holds you back as the s2000's have the same sleeves and ive seen them run over 500+whp easy. What holds you back are the stock pistons and rods. I wouldnt waste your time and money on the mahles. Either run low boost on stock pistons with a very very good tune or save up and build the block right.

The biggest problems with Mahles seems to be poor or out of spec cylinder wall prep. It definitely requires a different honing process. FRM sleeves can definitely take well over 15 PSI. The GT30 or GT35 type turbos work well on H22s. Non ballbearing type turbos are less expensive. '30' type seems good for 4-500whp while '35s' can reach 600s.

Don't waste your time with the Mahle's. And if you do... good luck finding someone with the proper stone to hone the cylinders.

I heard that some Porches use FRM cylinders. Wouldn't a good Porche shop have the right hones. If a Honda shop worked on H22s/Preludes etc., wouldn't they have the hones?

Look at my new setup. I dont want to run the Mahles, to much bad pr. JE baby, and Darton sleeves.
I thank all of you for so much help so far, but as my Block makes its way to Golden Eagle, I still have a couple of questions. I heard that a single disk clutch is going to feel like garbage on the street. Some ppl said to use a twin disk, but there $2500! Is the twin disk really the way to go? Or will the Fidanza 4.3 THAT I ALREADY HAVE be sufficient?
