So I bought a 96 civic dx hatchback with the stock engine. pretty much all the motor mounts need to be replaced. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for buying all the mounts including the transmission mount. Also if there is anything in particular i would need to know that would make changing them difficult. Thanks in advance

 

The rear mount toward firewall is going to be somewhat of a pain as you'll have to jack that part of the transmission up, slip that out, slip the other mount in and somehow torque it down in that tiny space. Even a ratcheting wrench will be a pain, there is hardly any throw, but it will eventually lock into place.

The front torque mount (transmission mount with the stick of metal coming out) shouldn't be hard, a lot of people actually run without this mount for whatever reason so you don't risk motor collapsing on you while it's out.

I've seen full stock-replacement mounts on eBay for $140 shipped and such. Individually Honda charges 40 to 60+ for them, and there will be about five if I recall correctly.
Aftermarket mounts (stiffer) will be about $300 shipped or more, depending on brand. Your call on this one, as vibration in cabin would increase but engine solidity would too.

You'll need a 14 mm ratchet to get most of the mounts off, 17 mm to get most of the bracket->mount bolts off, and 19mm to get the compressor-side bracket and torque bracket (?) off. Torque spec is around 50 ft/lb torque from bracket to mount, I do not have an exact figure off-hand, but it will not be too hard to apply that power. Be sure to look up the torque spec for the mount itself (14mm head) too!

Now to resume waiting for UPS...
