where do i access that wire from the engine bay?

you should be 750+/- 50 for idle, with the IAC disconnected 480+/-50. the IAB is your secondary runners in the intake manifold. they open at 5500 rpm to give you more topend power.

I got the same problem. I wired everything according to the post. Moved A20 to A17, red wire to A20, red/blue to D3. But when I drove it, 5500 rpm went by without feeling that VTec kicking in. Is there any way I can test it to see if Vtec came on? I just strip the wire in put it in the slot since I don't have any extra pin. Will it work? Do you know where I can get some pins?

yup, usually bad contact or no contact at all happens if you just put it in the slot. go to a junkyard, they should have em.

So is the IAB wired into the ECU or what ? I thought there was not wiring (vaccum controlled) I am running a obd2 gsr on an LSVT and am experiencing a similar problem.

When I did not have the vtec connected, the engine would just about stop at 4800 tho... (just for info towards the post)
