Default ok vtec help

so i get all my cel lights out car passes insepection and since the cel lights are out now i have no vtec. it has oil in it so dont ask that question. and no its not throwing any cel light either. the reason my car was throwing a cel before this is well 1st of all i should say its a 96 civic ex with a 00 gsr swap. originally at first the cel light was because some *** wired the temp sensor up to something else. so i got someone to wire it right. and ever since then i have no vtec. any ideas anyone???????

maybe this will help https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-prelude-4/official-%22why-vtec-doesnt-engage%22-thread-830163/, basically the ecu monitors quite a few thing like engine temp, oil pressure etc. and when all these things are good it gives power to the solenoid. But just read through that link if you still can't solve the problem post another thread and someone can help you. Right now it seems like you need to check all the basics that the link I gave you mentioned.
