Icon2 95 Civic 4 Door - Idle problem

Surging idle to be exact. Usually happens only when the engine is cold. But the engine will idle high low high low repetitively up and down. Usually stops after the car is warmed up. But occasionally it will continue after it is warmed. Does anyone have any ideas? I have to get it smogged and registered this month

Fast idle throttle valve is bad, it's located under your throttle body. Take it off and clean it with some brake cleaner, if that doesn't work i'd try replacing it altogether.

if its low, top it off. low coolant level is a result of your RPM's goin like that. it makes it sound like the motor is starvin (only way i could describe lol)

Alright. I'll stop and try that. What about a bad battery? I know I'm in need on a new one. Could that be it??

Clean both the FITV and IACV on the throttle body and bleed the cooling system. If this doesn't fix the problem, then carefully look for an intake air or vacuum leak.
