as for the main relay, i dont think it will supply enough power to the pump to make use of it. i think you may have to wire it to a 12 volt switch from the battery to get efficient use out of it.

how about you stop talking. the stock relay is fine for a 255.been daily driving mine for two years.if you do ever have a relay prob, its from the solder separating from the board.it happens over time.re solder it or buy a new one.

yeah did you just replace this for your stock pump on a stock engine? there are different ways about making use of this pump. especially if he goes boost.

What the hell? /\ Been using a stock main relay for five years on two different boosted setups with a 255 and NEVER had any problems.

Did you see any cracks on the solder on your Main Relay? If you do you can always re-flow the solder joints. Or add new solder. Instead of buying a new main relay.

Your pump will perform better if you wire a 12v source right from the battery using a relay, but that improvement comes from larger then stock gauge wiring, not the relay.

Just put in a new main relay or re-solder your old one.

You're thinking into this way too much.

Find out why it isn't priming. Test for power at the fuel pump connector. If you're getting power, the main relay is good and the fuel pump is bad. If you're not getting power, either the main relay is bad or you have some other wiring issue. Do you hear the relay click under the dash?
