Default wierd problem

I started getting a wierd problem sometimes when i would run the car hard i would throw it into second and the car will feel like there was a fuel cut off(only when i would throw a gear hard. Now sometimes when im driving normal at around 2k to 3.5k the car would sputter and the cel will flash each time it would sputter. While its sputtering the ecu sounds like its clicking. What can be the problem ive searched but didnt get a result to my problem.

(idk if sputtering is the right term for whats happening)

What year Civic?

For a 6th generation Civic, a blinking CEL indicates misfire severe enough to damage the catalytic converter.

Your ECU doesn't know that your cat is gutted. The key point here is that your engine is randomly misfiring. There are many potential causes, but start by checking the ignition (coil, ICM) and fuel (pressure) systems. Next check the cylinder compressions and the O2 sensor circuit.

im running an obd1 ecu so the ecu doesnt read the cat, my car has low compression(rings are bad) but i doubt that would case this.

the thing i dont understand is why does the ecu click and cel flash everytime this problem occurs.

Oh, you have an OBDI ECU. In this case, the blinking CEL does not signify random misfiring.

When you turn the key to ON(II), does the CEL remain ON?

If you jump the service connector, do you retrieve any codes?

Is the clicking noise coming from the main relay to the right of the glove box or actually from the ECU?

how do u know you have bad rings? excessively low compression + high load might cause misfires...
