what kind of motor mounts are you guys running? I hear innovative are good but should i get the whole mounts or just inserts?? kind of need advice/oppinions

I am a college student with not to much money. btw the build should be done over spring break(early march) this and the exhaust piping are the last things i need.

I will be switching to Innovatives sometime this year, I currently have stock with poly inserts. The EK driver side blows and the engine still moves pretty bad.

If you can source the money or maybe try and find a used set of decent mounts it would be your best bet. Also, the transmission and AC torque style mounts help a lot too so you could always fabricate something to do their job better.

You have an EG, EKs have that stupid pillowball mount on the driver side that demands replacement.

Window weld can be used on the other ones I suppose though.

If you are goin to run window weld.. window weld inserts into the stock mounts.. Works great.

We weld are mounts up however

^ i use polyurathane window cocking as well (window weld)

What i do is clean my mount with thinner very well.
Tape one side of the mount and then fill it packed from the other.
let it dry then voila.

I have mild steel inserts welded onto my stock mounts. Its stiff as hell but still has the tiniest play so its not wearing down axles.

Yea window weld is the clear slilcone stuff that dries to a hardned hardness.. you can get it at walmart and it comes in a caulking tube. just take your stock mount and fill er up and let her harden then BAM you have home made stiff mounts

will it break down though over a period of time? i dont want to replace it after a year lol. if it lasts more than 5years it sounds like it would be worth it if not i would just go with mounts. how bout the vibrations. This is going to be my DD btw till i get another DD. thanks for the help to everyone.

FAIL ALERT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!FAIL ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!FAIL ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Window Weld is a brand name made by 3M and is a type of urethane adhesive used by auto glass shops to "glue" new windshields in when they replace them. It is BLACK not clear.Be careful when you use it because it gets everywhere. There are several companies that make it, Sikkens,Sika etc
ps I know this since my wife owns an auto glass shop.

is there a difference between aftermarket steel & aluminum mounts besides cost, does one do a better job? Looking at the innovative mounts with 75a insert, trying to decide steel or aluminum.
