Default converting obd1 motor to obd2 what is needed

i blew my bottom end out of my 96 ls swapped civic. its hard finding a good condition or low mileage obd2 block, but have came across a sweet deal on a good obd1 motor out of a 94. it doesnt have the following on the motor but dude only wants 180 for it -> no throttle body, no fuel injectors, no fuel rail, no exhaust manifold, no mount bracket, and no dizzy.

first off what do i needto take fro m my obd2 motor and puton the obd1 to make it obd2. will any of this make the motor non smoggable? please let me know asap ive been without drivin my civic for almost two months now!

your original LS block is a b18b1 right? ANd the one ur buying is ALSO a b18b1? take off any parts off of your original engine and swap them onto ur new one. (to make up for what ever is missing from ur new one of course.)

I think you might need to swap out your distributor, crank sensor, and possibly some other parts to obd2...not entirely sure though

obd1 dident have a crank sensor.

my suggestion is to just swap over you whole intake manifold onto the donor motor aloing with your wire harness.

if you look in the faq ther is a thread on how to bypass the crank sensor if you need to

The alternator is also different between the obd's.

But I thought you couldn't swap older motors into newer bodies?

/\ some states are different on there whole version of an older motor...i'm in indiana...as long as your not blowing gas out the exhaust....your fine

You'll need the following from your original motor
Dizzy
Fuel Injectors
Engine Harness
Alternator
Crank Sensor

Everythign else on the OBD1 motor will plug up and work just fine as the plugs are the same as an OBD1 car.

Only real problem i see is the crank sensor...i've never liked those stupid things...but if you have everythign out i'm sure it'll be easy

you could always run a conversion harness to an obd1 ecu and say F the crank sensor...

also you can use the obd1 injectors/alternator if your willing to wire it up..same wiring...differnt plugs...why??? i dono...honda is dumb....

just swap everything from ur blown LS to the newly purchased one. intake mani. dizzy etc. and u should be fine. all the smog techs/ state ref look for in CA is the engine block code (b18b1 = 94 and up Integra LS) < as you already know. Be sure that all ur emission system is hooked up too.

Following this thread to try and get info for my situation.
I have a JDM GSR B18C (year unknown) motor in a '96 del sol. Car runs great but no communication to the obd2 port in the car; so no emissions can be tested. The seller misrepresented the obd status of the car so I'm stuck trying to make it legal.

I have NO truthful/accurate hx on this car I bought 2 weeks ago.

It appears to have an OBD1 distributor; several plugs instead of one. part number on the ECU is 37820-P72-003, which doesn't really tell me if it's OBD1 or 2.

Can I have this motor set up as OBD2 to pass emissions? with what parts? obd2 ecu, obd2 distributor?. Worst case scenerio; it is a pre '96 motor; can it be made OBD2?

Also looking for someone in So. New England to do the work.
Any help would be appreciated.

just finished same project like u attempting to do. i confirm on above list.

with crank sensor u will need to sweat for a lil. sensor will bolt right up on obdI block, but u will have to swap the crank gear with a plastic gear behind it, which gives measurements to the sensor, as well as the crank pulley since obdII is a lil deeper to clear crank sensor. also lower timing belt cover, since it has little cut out for the crank sensor wire.
