i just rebuilt my DC2R and slapped everything back together...the started first go.....
so i let the car idle for about 30 to 40mins while i clean everything up.

then i wanted to pull the car out my driveway..i select first gear.....and pull the car about 3 metres forward and then i hear something pop....like the gear popped out.....
now none of the gears wont engage.....i can pretty much start the car in any of the gears.....
while the car is idling.

when i got to change gears it feel like it is goin into gear....

there is still pressure on the clutch.....i checked the clutch slave...and the piston is moving in and out a fair bit.....

what can it be??

 

sounds like what happened to my brother's old car when the original clutch gave out. When we pulled it apart, there was NO material left on the clutch disc at all, which allowed the shifter to be moved into any gear without pressing the clutch pedal.

anybody else have an idea?

 

hey guys...quick update. last night i went to remove the box. when i went to remove the right driveshaft it was already out of the gearbox....
this will explain that pop i heard when i pulled the car forward.
i had the same symtoms with a civic i had. the drive shaft fell out and it also made a poppin noise.

can anyone confirm these symtoms?

 

update: it was the drive shaft that popped out of the gearbox....
