Default damn trouble codes

havent had a single problem in atleast 3 months...

alright so my speedometer randomely turns off, then on

then my check engine light turns on and my d4 starts flashing

i pull over and restart...nothing, go home, ran codes

17 comes up, means vss (vehicle speed sensor[why is d4 flashing then?])

Check the plug on the VSS in the transmission.

Its either going to be your speen sensor in the tranny or the speedo head. More then likely its the speed sensor due to the d4 light blinking.

alright, i found the vss...it was easy to tell what the problem happens to be. i have an oil leak coming from my vtec oil pressure switch and it was running straight down to the vss, the plug has oil all on it, can motor oil ruin this plug? if so where in the **** am i to get just the plug, the male part with the wire

Try cleaning up the plug (not the sensor) with some brake parts cleaner or carb cleaner to remove the oil.

You may not have to replace the plug. Get some brake cleaner or electrical contact cleaner and try to clean it first.
