i just put in a main relay and my car ran fine for a week fine now when i start it it kinda bogs then it dies i think that the relay keeps on going out what is causing that? if anyone could help i would appreciate it

 

I honestly don't think its the relay. If its new, there won't be degradation in performance, it literally just turns things on. Probably a failing fuel pump.

 

its not new i got it frm the junkyard and it was running until the next morning and my battery keeps on drainin gbut im charging the battery right now to c. im gonna try and buy a brand new relay

 

before u buy a new relay have your altenator tested especially if its draining your battery

 

Its possible for the relay you got to be trash based on how many go bad.. I would try a new one or a buddies known working one to narrow it down.

The main relay is a box with 3 relays inside. If one of them goes bad, it could make a permanent connection causing whatever that specific relay controls to be on all the time.
Pull the alternator and take it to pep boys or advance, they test them for free.

 

if you're still worried about the relay, do the solder trick. it's in the FAQ. works like a charm.

Check your spark plugs and your fuel pump. Have you done an ignition check-up? (New cap, rotor, plugs, wires) Could be something there.
