Default heat wrap my header so clutch wont slip??

heres the run down. shop a put an act clutch in my car then started slipping for some odd reason when heated up such as daily driving. sooo i took it to shop b to see what the problem was cuz i dont trust shop a anymore. shop b pulls it apart and discovers the throw out bearing is getting caught up on the snout it rides on. so i have a new oem clutch put in. i did about 150 EASY DRIVEN miles on the oem clutch then on valentines day it started to slip and me and my buddies were thinking its going to have to be the slave cyclinder getting stuck open. so i run this by the guy at shop b he suggest to heat wrap my header to see if thats the trick. it might work now in winter but i like in oklahoma where 100+ is not uncommon during the summer. soooo heat wrap or new slave??

Hello fellow Okie.

Heat wrapping the header to prevent the clutch from slipping sounds just plain retarded to me. I really can't give you ideas of what might be causing it, but I doubt it's the heat from your exhaust.

im gonna do the wrap tomorrow afternoon and drive it around for a bit. i can tell when its going to start to slip cuz the pedal gets stiff. i heard this was cuz of the slave getting stuck open and when i told the guy at the shop he said the pedal should get really soft if its the slave. keep in mind this is a shop ran by two guys who eat sleep brethe GM and chevy cars they dont know much about honda's but i got a good price on stuff

sometimes the pedal can get stiff with a bad slave cylinder as well

that sounds pretty retarded. it's like saying you need to heat wrap your intake or your brakes will get warped.

Heat wrap shouldn't make a difference. If it does, there's another issue that needs to be dealt with.

the header has no correlation to the clutch...

you can heat wrap your head so your brain starts working... I heat wrapped my header, and it did absolutly nothing and was a waste of money for my DD. Change the slave, bleed it out, break the clutch in, and concentrate on whats broken with the KISS (keep it simple stupid) approach for starters then report back.

I had a slave cyl do that to me after a clutch change in my civic. I took the trans off twice trying to diagnose. The slave was new so I thought it couldn't be the problem. It was.
