HELP: installing shift light

is there anyway to install my shift light without using an after market tak? i was wondering if it could work by using the tak off my cluster... if so how would it be wired??? any help appreciated

there is def a way to do it. You may have to run into the line coming directly from the ECU? Do some research, it should be the same basic method for any car. Report back if you find anything...gl

if you got one of those shift lights that has the chip that you put in the back to go off when it hits the certain RPM it could work. You would need a relay to power it but you could just tap that into the line sending the tach reading to your cluster, put one wire for ground, and you would need a relay or a different power source to power the light...

Their chipped ECU's use the CEL as a shift light, specified by the buyer on purchase.
Other than that you could get a shift trigger from Summit racing and use an LED....

it can be done the best way is to buy the auto meter tach light that has the pill in it and you can just change the pill out to different shift points ,if you have a light already with no shift light you can tap the driver side harnes point ,The wire is blue or green on the driver side tower .You will need to run an inline pill with the set shift point and run it to the tach light,I would get the auto meter tach light ,much easier
