B16A1, compression question.
I'm not really familiar with compression ratios and building engines for boost. But I was looking at a car for sale that had artermarket pistons with a 9.0:1 comp ratio. The engine is built but the car has never been boosted, would you notice much power gains with these pistons along with aftermarket rods before the car is boosted? Is there any negative affects of having a low compression ratio being n/a?
Thanks for any info you have.

not sure about low comp in a n/a. i know low comps best for boost, and high comp is best for n/a, id say u would just have no low end, but dont flame me for being wrong as i am 99% of the time
How noticeable would the lack of top end be? I'm interested in a car that been recently rebuilt with eagle rods, je pistons and port and polished head and intake manifold. If I drove it for about a year before it ever saw boost would it still be fun to wind up and make decent power? Would there be any negative affects?
