DA brakes on an EF questions
So I've read through the writeups and stuff, seems like a pretty easy swap. I already have the trailing arms out of my Integra donor car I've already swapped over the booster, master, and prop valve. I just have a few questions:
- For the REAR brakes- which control arms am I using? What about the little arm at the front of the trailing arm (sorry don't know the name of it)?
- Will I need a wheel alignment afterwards? I'd guess so, yeah?
- Would you recommend going through the work of putting the DA fronts on? I've read threads saying you HAVE to use EX knuckles, and I've seen threads saying you can use DA knuckles. Any insight here? I know It'll need an alignment after doing fronts.
Thanks guys,
-Dirk

I have DA knuckles on my sedan and I don't have any problems with the set up. As for the rear, you can use the lower control arm original to your car. If you use the integra lca you have to use the upper integra link aswell but your wheels will be out 1/4 on both sides. That is what I have planned for my car. Hope this helps.

Wheel alignment, yes. Anytime you replace suspension like that an alignment is needed.
Use your stock LCAs and compensator arms for sure!
You can use both DA knuckles or 90-91 EX Civic Sedan knuckles, both are a direct fit. The Civic knuckles are VERY hard to come by though.

u can put everything over from the da arms and everything you don't need the arms but you can use them if you like remember your going to need the rear brake lines too

and nick's right a lot of times people forget about the rear brake lines. you can use the old integra rubber ones. i got stainless steel ones all 4 corners- earls i think - but honestly i can't even tell a difference so.....
Yes get an alignment after any and all suspension work, although I never did!
I think I got very lucky. No toe or camber wear just "normal" wear from tires constantly loosing traction.
I do think my caster is off from installing my ETD traction bar.

the only thing that's different is the front "traction bars" i used da rear arms and links basically the whole rear suspension the only thing that's not from a da on my car is the front "traction bars", front lower control arms (beacuse the bushings where shot but i'm pretty sure they would have fit), shocks and springs, and front brake lines (i think they would have fit thought not 100%on that one)
can anyone else confirm this beacuse if not then the da i got had civic brakes lol

I just finished my whole DA brake upgrade on my ef8 and everything bolts right up and Im using all the stock arms. Just that the DA ebrake cable is a little long so I opted on buying the ef8 instead. I changed all the bushings as well. I went with the S.S. lines for DA as well. Looks real good.
Ok For the rear all you have to use are the trailing arms you the stock crx lower control arm and the top camber arms, there is a arm on the front of the traiing arm you must use the crx one or you will not get a stright alignment.
For the front you can use the DA knuckles brake brackets, calipers, and what ever brake hoses you want rubber/stainless

yes do both, ive got them on my rex, with stainless lines and dot 5 fluid car stops on a dime!!! well worth the swap, for the front just use the knuckles, the rear trailing arms like everyone says, you will need the teg e brake cables and upgrade to stainless lines now while its all apart and bleed once, you will thank yourself later when you test your brakes, lol.
Ya, do the fronts as soon as you can. In fact, alot of people report less or the same power in the rear but huge gains up front.... I'm doing sir knucles up front (same diameter as DA) and Da in the rear so I guess I'll see real soon myself.
