axel popped out of tranny maybe?
k well heres the deal i was driving on the freeway at about 65 mph an i shiffted from 4th to 5th and all of a sudden it would rev when i hit the gas and the mphs would rev lik an rpm gauge and then it slowly went down as the rpms went down. any one have any ideas i was thinking the axle popped out the tranny but thats only 3 years exp talkin... lol lil help please
'92 - '00 civics don't use a speedometer cable, they use an electronic vehicle speed sensor, which may have died.
If the car drives fine then its not axle related, check the VSS and the gauge cluster.
Ha...The Same thing Happened to me once......Most likely the axle did pop out.....It probably wasn't installed right and the teeth eventually wore down......which made it come out.....Thats what seemed to be my case......cause the teeth on the end of the axle were done......But I'm not 100%....hopefully that helps...
to be honest, thats happened to me on more than one occasion. the problem was that the parts guy gave me the wrong axle, which was just a bit short, and the axle nut kept pulling to the tire side and out of the transmission when i drove the car.
yea its the axle because u just put it back in n drove about thirty feet n it poped out again so wat do u guys suggest i do get another axle (gotta life time worenty - sorry dont kno how to spell - on that one)and if that doesnt work then get a new tranny? cuz ive been driving on since ive instaled it about a month ago.

its a jdm d15b complete swap with cx tranny on a93 eg hatch and imma go get a new axle right now but im pretty sure its the tranny because when i pulled out the axle had mettal flakes where u stick it in at and the axle looks like its in perfect condition so idk im still am gonna get a new one while i have it out tho. but is ther any easy or cheap way to lik fix the tranny? cuz i really dont want to spend 250 for a new one.
So just to confirm here, at this point the car will not move under its own power? If so and the speedo still moves you can rule out the clutch, after that its either internal transmission damage (most likely a blown diff pin, although they often punch a hole through the top of the transmission case destroying the VSS) or its axle related.
