upgrade ABS system?
So I read that the 98+ ABS systems are better than the older versions. Is it possible to upgrade? I assume I'll have to change the positions of some brake lines near the pump. Would I also need to get the newer ABS computer as well? How much trouble would this project be? Anything else to look out for?
I know the 98 and up abs units are smaller and lighter than the previous ones, but I have never heard that they perform better. I have autocrossed my 96 gsr for the last 8 years and have never had an issue with the abs, I only keep it cuz it keeps my slicks from flatspotting. I think your money can be better spent on other mods, maybe some good pads or even a caliper upgrade.
Good to see youve done some research, thanks for the threads I learned something today. I have never had an issue with my 3 channel abs, but I am autocrossing and rarely ever see speeds over 65-70 mph on course. Maybe some experienced road racers can chime in and shed some light. Good luck
