I just got CTR cams installed on my b16 everything is fine except that there are time when it feels like the motor is about to die at low idle. I have to rev it up to make it jump to a normal idle on the motor. Not sure what happened
Note: I also installed Skunk2 Cam gears and advanced the Intake 2 degrees and decreased the Exhaust 1 degree.

why dont you replace the spark plugs and wires i bet that would fix it........it might be your fuel filter dirty.....did you mess with the timing(did you put the dizzy back like it was or did you adjust the timing on it )
but anyways did you feel the difference with those cams and are you running stock valvetrain what did you use for cam gears or did you leave the stock ones

well ctr cams are bigger. They might be idling rough because its letting in a lot of air and out alot of exhaust gas and the scavenging effect is not as strong. Could be issues with ignition and fuel systems but take that into thought.

I installed skunk2 cam gears and advanced the Intake to 4 degrees and set back the Exhaust to 2 degress. I didnt touch anything on the distributor. Note I installed both CTR cams.
and yeah I do feel the difference!

just talked to a Honda mechanic and said everything should be ok , but he cant explain the why it idles up and down at low RPM's and then go back to nornal idle. My idle is at 1000 RPM and then goes to 400 to 700 rpm when it starts to go up and down.

That's what I was thinking too, your spark plugs could be bad or you could be using the wrong ones. When I rebuilt my B16 a long time ago I had idle problems too and when I replaced the spark plugs with the right ones it was fine. That or it could be your TPS so check that.

I'm not sure if I have the older ones or the newer one. The ones I got have a blue center. I picked those out because i thought they look nice. Anyways, anyone with more info or had trouble with this set up.
Also whats the best set up when it comes to the degrees +,- on the Cam gears???

there prob the 1 st gen ones's. just set it to 0-0 for ctr cams unless u got a milled head. i know this probably the last thing u want to hear but if your just running ctr cams just use the stock cam gears your not gonna get anything special out of moving ctr's around and like i said above set your ignition timing to stock.
I had ctrs in my b16 and it idled really low. Like 600rpm. but never idled up and down. Mine came in the car when i bought it and had cam gears and they had the intake cam retarded like 5 degrees. i set it back to 0 and could tell a big difference. Like stated above, just set it at 0. And dont feel retarded. You may get to take advantage of them later on down the road.

OMG !!! this worked... awesome I could feel power, not as much, but happy with the outcome. I set my cam gears back to 0 degrees and it does not idle low anymore.
