Default Remaking my Ls motor

so i have a Ls (non-Vtec) in my 96 integ. It got stolen and i just got i back a few weeks ago. The F**kers mess up my tranny. I also have a 00 si tranny and engine sitting in my garage. I was thinking about going frankenstine by putting the b16 tranny with the ls motor. Also i heard that if you put the b16 piston in the ls it would make higher compression espically if you go vtec.

Is it possible to take the vtec off the b16 and slap it onto my ls? (I know it's harder than just putting it on, but i wanna know if it will work) I don't want to track race, just a daily fun driver. Does anyone think its a good idea to hook up a ls block with a b16 tranny on a integ?

yup you can hook up a b16 tranny to an ls motor.. but people are going to flame this thread and flame it bad probably and you most likely will get discouraged from ever posting on this web site again which would suck cus this web site rocks and is VERY VERY useful....

use the SEARCH... everytime you think of a question or anything you might be wondering about.. you figure someone has have to of done it before you right... just like what your talking about right there... so no biggie... just use the search... and search for whatever you want, good luck in the future

sorry to hear about your integra getting stolen... mine did too... i know how it feels

You can physically mate the two and have them work; but I don't know if the gearing will be the greatest.

i personally hated it... i gained maybe a tenth of a second in the quarter maybe 2 for sake of conversation... dude.. not worth hearing a 2 1/2inch exhaust at 6 thousand rpms at like 85mph lol... it sucked!!! gas mileage went down as well... totally wasn't worth it.. but with my 7lbs flywheel for an ls the car sounded like it rev'd like a bike... it got up quick.. just didnt have the power to back up the rev... lol.. but more annoying than anything else for the most part.

With the b16 transmission, at 70mph you'll be at 4k rpm. At 80mph you'll be at 5k rpm. I know because that's my current setup. It's fun to drive around town, however, in the highway you'll want to ditch that 5th gear!! Currently, I can't stand driving in the freeway.

I'm trying to find a LS 5th gear, or GSR transmission, or go back to the LS trans. It's difficult for me because I'm running a cable trans and it's much more difficult to find a good cable trans or parts.

If you are planning to go LS/V here is a link on how to build a reliable LS/V or B20/V and GL to you https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/how-build-%22reliable%22-lsvtec-b20vtec-1676914/

LS is not meant for high revs, youll shorten the life of the stock engine significantly.

70 @ 4k rpms /b16
70 @ 3k rpms w/ LS tranny
