I bought a car recently and when I went to title the DMV told me that I couldnt because there was some sort of lean on the title. called seller and he said the same thing happened to him and he would contact the guy he bought it from and figure it all out. Now I go back to DMV same ****! Im pissed. cant get a ghold of him til later so I look up the Vin and find that there is a recod of it being stolen but may have been recovered according to another site.(havent bought full carfax report yet) SO where can I find all of the VIN locations to verify I didnt buy some puzzle piece theft mobile?

 

basically buy the carfax report. You might be able to check the record @ the local authorities office.

 

on the drivers corner of the dashboard, by the sill in the drivers door frame, and on the firewall right off of the fuel filter

haha...was it the one in daphen off spanish road? i alomost got that car but it had no vins..the guy told me it had gottin stolen and he got it back gutted. but if you figure it got stolen the dash would be out and the rear panels with the coilovers aswell... but sorry to here that bro!! just glad it wasnt me....

 

These are the three locations that are common to every car.

On '96-00 Civics, there is also a VIN sticker on every factory-installed body panel. If any body panel on a '96-00 Civic does not have a VIN sticker, it means that panel was replaced at some point.

 

lol somehow i didnt see the last line. There is a vin on the motor, tranny, firewall, door jams, trunk, hood, and rear body panel, and in the front windshield.

 

yeah I looked at the door jam, dash and firewall(etched in) everything matches. my friend called some cop he knows and the vin came back fine. Im just pissed that a 95 hatch primered for $1500 cant get titled ( guy says there was a lein that was lifted but needs to take paperwork to DMV) who puts a lein on $1500 car? I payed for my **** and have to deal with this? now I have to wait on all the parts and **** which is killing me. anyway thanks for the help everyone

yeah dud the **** is I have a signed virgina state titel that states NO LEINS and its official. Title in my ****ing hand im pissed. for real I am about to chop shop my own damn car. NOT REALLY LOL. im so ****ing irritated with this ****. i drove 3 hours to meet this cat at 11pm got there at 2am and drove back for this ****. F_ that. im just sketched about loosing my $1500. it might not be much but damn its 2 weeks of work for nothing if i cant figure this **** out

 

go to the DMV and ask to talk to the supervisor. then explain EVERYTHING to him/her

long story short title in hand but might as well wipe my a$$ with it. WTF
title appears fully legit but that's not the case with DMV and for $1500 its not worth the headache, and for a rattle can primered car. If anarchy was in place God only knows what I would do.

 

I went to DMV 2 times and (my girl went my DMV has stop for property tax I payed{long story} she is putting it in her name) anyway they wont give me the details to the lein or any of that **** and the ****ed up thing is im stuck with this headache for a car i fully payed for. I mean damn who expects this out of a juh-lop-ee! I have like $1000+ parts im ordering and my friend at the paint shop is painting car for $1500 so Im on hold until I go Illegal or figure it out and I would rather be legit especially since I am on my part. dude is yanking my chain but Im not going to **** with it for much longer I guarantee a car full of pissed of guys will get my money back or solve the BS. ( unfortunatly there are **** suckers in this world that attempt to run all over people but I wont be one of them.) anyway this is turnng into a gossip thread so next MOD that see's it delete it.
