I have no idea about the power gains but I can tell you it'll have great throttle response, kinda like a drive by wire system.

you'll need a standalone ECU (AEM and etc) to fully capitalise on the ITBs.

tuning them is expensive and i would say that a JDM GS-R swap and an exhaust isn't really up to the standard that you would think blowing a whole lot of money is worth it.

instead why not spend the money on the block and head. get it ported, get new valvetrains, get new cams, cam gears, internals.

ITBs are very costly and though yes, they are the holy grail of NA tuning, in your case, the money would be better spent on sometihng else.

$500 on a set of ITBs are really cheap though. depending on the type of ITB, you can probably get it and make a decent profit out of it if it's really a decent set of usable ITBs.

my 2 cents.

Buy the ITBs from your friend, sell them, buy other more worthwhile upgrades.
Cams
Porting, etc

Thanks for all your help guys, I really do appreciate it. I think I will be going to steer clear from the ITB's for now, and go with some head work instead.
