b16a obd0 swap question into ef
alright 90 ef sedan, thinking about a b16a obd0 swap. when it comes to a tranny, do i need a cable or hydro? or can i go with a gsr tranny? im not too familiar with the tranny swapping so please help me out if you guys can. thanks.
really? no matter if its hydro or cable? i think it would be easier with a cable right? since my obd0 ef sedan is cable....or else ide have to add a master cylinder.
so if thats the case, as far as cable trannies go, what do i need to look for? i think im going to boost the b16a and use it for racing. would i look for shorter gear ratios or what?

any specific cable b-series tranny? i know there are different model numbers.
i was taking a look at that link you gave me, got a pretty extensive parts list. anyways, the ecu pinning seems confusing, i have a buy a pin for the o2 sensors? i dont even know where to begin when it comes to that.

It does gets confusing if its your first time https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/88-91-crx-ef-civic-frequently-asked-questions-faqs-1508680/
yea swapping a block and all the bottom end related stuff (tranny, axles, halfshaft) thats all new to me. i've swapped out heads before.
so yes any b series tranny will bolt up. But for a hydro tranny to work you will need to get hasports hydro tranny conversion kit for the EF.
you are better off going with a cable transmission in my opinion, its simpler and more cost effective. I would stick to the b16 trannys or the 92-93 GSR trans if you can find one. The LS will have way too long of gearing.

i found a bare b16a obd1 block (no pistons or rods) for only 45 dollars haha.
yea man i feel ya on that one. hasport stuff is too expensive in the first place. i just realized that i need to get the stupid B series mounts for an EF, which is like what? 300 bucks? stupid ****.

is it just me or does it seem like an LS motor from a 92-93 da would be hard to find? 140hp with 111lb/torque comparted to a 90-91 with 126lbs/torque with 130hp.
im leery of craigs list though. i dont want to **** around and get a piece of **** block or head....cuz if the price is right i may just pick it up and could be a mistake.
