Default Engine Bearing Question

Hi, i am about to have a 700 hp motor bulit.

My engine builder wants to use Honda Bearings. But He only uses Honda YELLOW Bearings, no other color.

I wanted to know if this is safe?

Will the bearings spin?

Has anyone done this before?

I have always used ACL or Clevite bearings so I dont know how Honda Yellow Bearings will work well.

oem Honda bearings are very good. probably better than most/all aftermarket bearings. Honda uses a select fit color code bearing system. they don't have a one size fits all bearing.

if your engine requires all yellow bearings because he checked the clearances and that what they require that is fine. if he is using yellow bearings because he thinks they will be ok or thats all he has then he is a poor engine builder and you may run into low or high oil pressure issues and/or engine damage.
