Default New to this whole retro deal, whats your guys opinions

Hi guys read quite a bit on these pages. I ordered a pnp hid kit from xenith xenon but they refunded my money. The more and more I thought about what I wanted the more I wanted to do it right.

My friends sister has a 07 tl type s. The headlights are amazing in her car. The beam pattern is perfect, nice cutoff, and love how they look when turned on initially.

With that in mind, wouldn't the tsx projectors be the same as her tl type s? All the pnp hid kits seem like there would be no control of the light. Also at 6000k you don't get that purple like you do from Acura. Does anyone know what type of bulb the tsx use or at least what temperature.

I was looking at this kit, http://store.theretrofitsource.com/p...2a19456f8f9d4e

Just not sure who I want doing these retros, there's a few different places all within about 100 bucks of each other. I thought about just buying a set of depo projector lights and having the depo projectors removed and the above kit fabricated into black depos so I still have my stock headlights. I figured if I supplied the above kit it would be a little cheaper.

Any thoughts is appreciated. Looking at E46 replica shrouds that come with the kit at retrofit source usa

This isn't related to Preludes, and your link is broken.

What do you mean, it's not related to preludes. I've got a 99 type sh 7k miles. Why would I post in the prelude forum about retros if I didn't have a prelude duh?

I'll fix the link for you, then maybe you can see what I'm thinking. I just don't really want a pnp hid kit. I don't think they look as good as the acura oem lights.

A question about Acuras with no mention of the Prelude.

I have no idea.
Look dude, I've been on other forums for years. Left this site because of people like you. I'm 32 years old grow up. If I have a question about what projectors I want to buy then I'll ask it, got it?

Shall I go to the retro threads where everybody else refers to e46 projectors from BMW's, or maybe from Audi TT's? Whats the difference, don't be a tool. If you don't want to help me with the information I'm looking for then by all means don't read it.

It most def is the right place to post this. Again why is it the wrong place, please inform me because it sounds to me like you're being a hipocrit.

Is it because I didn't type out every single mod ever done to my type sh? Cause if you want a few of them they're as follows. The basics koni adjustable shocks, neuspeed lowering springs, wwrs kit, full stainless steel dc sports catback, aem short ram, stock interior never been touched. Car has 7000 miles, it's a 99 that I bought from my dad back in 03 for $14,500 when it had 3000 miles on it. So I've put 4000 miles on it in almost 6 years. The car is mint and I want a projector setup.

I'm not new to the game so don't treat me like a 2 year old. I know pnp hid kits blow. I know how to read and the purpose of this thread isn't to hear 15,000 people tell me I'll blind everyone on the road. I already know that it doesn't have to be preached to me.

So now you a little about my car, maybe you can be a respectful board member and answer my questions. Like I said before it's no different then someone else talking about another cars projectors, g35, tsx, audi, bmw and so forth.

You obviously don't get it. If you have questions about ACURA parts, you should probably ask someone that owns an ACURA. There are Acura forums on this site, have you posted in there? Just because you own a Prelude and intend on putting Acura parts in your Prelude does not mean your questions would be best answered by a Prelude forum.

And it's "hypocrite". Now go post this in an Acura forum, since those guys know about Acura parts.

Yeah I get it, you're a tool! I'll quote and pull 10 different people on the prelude forum talking or asking about tsx headlights. Just stfu up, your posting no information on this board is just as bad! If I would go to the Acura forum and tell them hey guys I have a prelude and I want tsx projectors they'd say the same thing you're posting this about a prelude in the acura forum lol. Don't you have something better to do than post useless information like go to work?

It's pretty sad you have to act like you're better than someone and change what they've typed to make yourself look good!

Thanks Jlude I'll be in touch with you. Not sure I want a bi-xenon kit but I'll look into it

i'm confused on what you're trying to accomplish, so you're saying you want to use a set of headlights from depo. remove the projectors they came with and use your own projectors with some e46 shrouds? why don't you just use your oem headlights and fab them into that? it'll look much more cleaner and n
and to answer your question, the tsx uses 4300k D2S bulbs.
Yeah Jlude answered all my questions and gave me some ideas about the tsx lights and the bi-xenon setup he has in his lude.

I guess all that's really left me to do is take my front bumper off and get my oem lights out and send them to him. I've never taken the bumper off hopefully it wont give me to many problems.

Maybe next I'll ask about putting rsx wheels on my prelude.
Just don't single me out, there's so many threads about other car parts involving our ludes. I like the site, please don't make me leave again because of immature people

Look, DUDE! Three people told you that you posted in the wrong forum. Do you think maybe we're right and you're wrong? I'll try to break it down so even you can understand.

Your first two questions were about TSX and TL Type S projectors. Why would Prelude owners know these specs? We have Preludes, not Acuras.

Now had you asked something like "has any tried retro-fitting TSX projectors into their Prelude headlights?" That would be appropriate. Or you could have asked, "What's the best projector to use for my Prelude?" That would also be appropriate.

But talking **** after 3 people tell you that you just brain-farted is the real sign of immaturity. Quit acting like a little girl. You aren't being singled out, you're just making it a big deal.

As for the RSX wheels, if you want to know their diameter, width, offset, or weight, this WOULD NOT be the correct place to ask. If you want to know if 2007 RSX wheels will fit on a Prelude using 215/40/17 tires, this WOULD be the correct place to ask. Do you see the damn difference?

Good luck with your retrofit. Feel free to post pictures in the 5th GEN PICTURES THREAD when you're done.

It's sad how common sense is no longer common.

Seriously man thanks for wishing me luck. I will post pictures when I get the retrofit done. I can edit the word prelude into my original post if that would make you happy.

Seeing how my name is uniquesh99 I figured you had the smarts to at least know I had one. Does suck when you don't use common sense eh bro!

As for the rsx wheels I was being a smartass, trying to prove a point that people all the time post threads involving other parts from other cars. I have momo wheels, no need for rsx wheels.

So anyways layoff me that's all I ask I get your point already, actually got it the first time you made it.

lol, thats exactly what kronn said. ie: Will a rsx wheel fit on a prelude?

part from another car that involves your prelude.

i wish they still had that guy hitting himself with a hammer icon

I really don't have to explain anything, I'm not trying to start fights on here. I just have seen a lot of retro threads. I wasn't for sure on what I needed to do to have these made.

Now I know, Jlude seems the best guy for the job. I know it's a mod that's been done a lot already but not in my town. There's probably 3 5th gens period and I know none of them have them. It's a sweet, clean look that I think will look nice on my nighthawk pearl sh.

I really haven't seen a lower mileage car than mine. I want to keep the car nice for a long time and seeing at night has a lot to do with that. Unless you like hitting racoon and deer.

hey man, i apologize i misread aka didn't read your 1st post entirely. i just saw the tl type s and car so i assumed that was your car. **** happens when you're rushing and skim through stuff. i'm guessing kronn fell victim to it too. anyway, good luck with that and lemme know if you have any questions. i've done a tsx setup myself. talk to matt at theretrofitsource. he hooks it up.

It's cool man, I could see if I was talking about somthing like engine or power on an acura in a prelude forum. I was just simply trying to use the acura lights as an example of something I was interested in having put into my sh.

I really didn't make it very clear and after reading it I understand where you guys are coming from. I love my prelude and it's almost april. I don't even attempt at getting salt on it. Can't wait to get it out I've got a few things I want to do and projectors is one of them.

Haven't set in stone what I really want to do yet. I was most nervous about sending out my lights but after talking to a few people I feel pretty comfortable doing that.

I'm thinkin either tsx or tl type s projectors with e46 shrouds or the bi xenon infinity setup. If I understand right I could get black depos, the ones without the projectors and it would allow me to have my stock lights too. Or I can sell my stock lights and almost pay for the whole setup with J lude and just buy the black depos and send them to him.

Hope I'm not making it sound confusing I just want them so bad before the summer. Lighting in general amazes me for some reason. Shoot all the lights in my house are 6500k haha.

i can vouch for jlude. if i didn't want or knew how to do mine, he'd be the first and probably the only guy i'd trust my lights with. by summer? dude, he should have them sent out within the same week if he isn't busy.

and yes, the depos are pretty much oem replicas and quality is almost on par with the oems. i'm redoing my retrofits with s2k projectors this summer. i'm thinking of buying myself a set of depos as well. for 200 bucks, i'm game.

I'm confused. Jlude's link specifically states that he won't do Depos. Are you considering Depos and doing the retrofit yourself or has he changed his mind?

Hey man I think it's he just won't work on depo projectors because it makes it harder for him to install the lights. The regular black depos oem H1 headlights allows him to mount the lights where he wants them or something. Here is his link about his work the he sent me earlier.

http://preludepower.com/forums/priva...pm&pmid=898858

Im just sold on the type of light my buddies sisters tl type s put out. I like the purple/white light they put out. The tsx projectors are nice and they both use the same bulb if I'm correct but the tl just looks better. I need to research the size of the tls projector I'm hoping its the same size as the tsx projector. I'm just not into a blue appearace coming from my lights. Blue seems rice to me and I'm not trying to offend anyone that has the tsx lights it's just my opinion.

I also need to research more on the infinity setups. I think the fx35 is a bi xenon system and that would be pretty cool. I guess I just have to look at pictures of all these systems and pick one now. Money isn't the issue, I work for Pepsi Americas and my wifes an RN. It's just an issue with me having time to get my front bumper off which I've never done before. I've got a month or so to really decide but all of the information I'm receiving is really helping
