How to take off antenna???
Like it was mentioned, you can use needle nose pliers or even snap ring pliers. There are grooves on the silver cap and unscrew. It can take quite a few turns but it will pop off allowing you to slide it down and remove it from inside. Hope you have one to drop right in
^^ x2, I just use a flathead and push into the grooves to unscrew the top portion (silver part) slides right up and you are left with the antenna that is pulled out from inside
I carefully used a standard screw driver and hammer. Just lightly tap the back end of the screwdriver with the hammer, while holding the tip to one of the notches on the chromed cap. Be sure to apply a couple layers of blue tape around the area, that way if you slip the tip you won't scratch the surface. And judging by the way it looks around the base of the antenna you have rusting issues underneath your paint, I spot some bubbling.
I highly recommend getting an antenna wrench or antenna wrench tool if it is really stuck. They are not that expensive and you wont damage your antenna nut. I purchased one similar too the one on the link from Northern Tool. I had to bend the end so that I wouldn't scratch my paint. The tool that looks like a nut with teeth for the notches (antenna socket) is better though.
