Hey guys,
im the recent new owner of the beloved honda del sol, its been on my wish list ever since i started driving 6 years ago and so far, im loving it. The only problem that i have noticed is that when i remove the top and drive at a steady 100km/h, i notice that the car vibrates quite a bit. with the roof on however it drives as smoothly as it should. just curious if this is common with all del sols or if maybe mines messed up.

i think the better question is...why do you have the top off in the middle of February in Canada? haha seriously though, i dont notice anything while my top is off and i have never heard of there being a problem with vibration/top or or off..

 

Mabey it was nice out.

Im in ohio where it has been between -6 and 25 degrees for 2 months then all the sudden it was 65 degrees. felt like summer.

 

Yeah mine Vibrates with the roof off a lil too, And my 95 did too.. I think it's rather common.

 

Mine vibrates some too when the targa is off. I'm just going to leave the top on when I go "spirited driving" and maybe try and fab up a cage one of these days

 

Vibrate....like the sound of something in the wind, or a feeling in the steering wheel or the seat?

 

i have the same problem with mine, with the roof off, the chassi becomes a lot less rigid and it feels like ur whole car is shaking. a pillar bar would solve this but unfortunately none have been made for the sol.

 

hmm havent had any issues with my targa off

 

mine does the same exact thing. threw on some front and rear strut bars and its completely fine

 

It will vibrate the entire car because without the roof installed, the stability of the car is not as firm. That is a common thing with Del Sols of course.
