Icon2 Ground Control Spring Rates help... Mixed use setup

Hi guys, I just picked up a set of Koni Yellow's for my 94 DC2 and plan on going with Ground Control's to compliment them. I'm a virgin to suspension on DC2's, but I've had Eibach Sportlines and Tein Flex's before on my old EM1. I was doing some research on Spring Rates, and it looks like the standard spring rates for ground control's are around 350F/250R.

I loved the feel of my tein flex's before, and wouldn't mind a slightly firmer ride (keyword = slightly). The flex's were about 500lbs/inF 280lbs/inR (9kg/mmF 5kg/mmR). When I did some research on here, I get the impression that 500F is pretty stiff. I plan on using the car as a DD but want to be wishing I had stiffer springs on the track for track days - so a mixed use setup would be appropiate. I'd like to stay away from oversteer as well, but could later work on that with a sway bar.

So would say a 400F/300R setup be best for me? I don't want it to ride like hell when I'm driving to work, but the 400 is less than the Flex's... so I'm confused. Though I think Tein uses an 8kg/mm (front) for the DC2 Flex's which would yeild a 447 lbs/in front spring rate.

Any opinions?

Thanks guys.

I was running 380/450 f/r rates and it was unbearable for my 100 mile daily commute. If I did it again I'd probably go with 400/300 f/r just like you mentioned.

Ok so it sounds like 400/300 is a good street/track set-up. It sounds like the stiffer rear set-up is a bit rough.

Thanks for the input guys.

I have a baby in my car a lot of the time, and he falls right asleep with my 430f 375r rates. It can be a bit bumpy, but that's with my yellows set on full stiff. Awesome balance, but then I have a 22mm Progress rear sway bar as well. It's stiff as I need it but comfortable enough too.

Edit: I first went with Skunk2 Pro-S coilovers, and it was a mistake. The ride was too harsh...

Yeah I may go higher than 400 in the front. I'm just concerned that 400 is softer then tein flex's and most people complain the flex's aren't stiff enough for the track. If your baby could fall asleep, then it can't be too bad.

Thanks man.
