Default Slight sputter inbetween shifts.

I have a 2002 RSX-S with 107k and when I'm driving normal switch gears at around 3500-4000 there is a 1/2 sec minor sputter and loss of power...from 1st-2nd 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th only. During WOT it runs perfect. I changed the plugs to oem ngk iridiums, oil change at acura, tranny flush at acura. I also have a 2.5 catback, k&n typhoon intake. Sputtering was occuring before mods too. I also reset my ecu after mods and still sputters. COuld it be my ignition coils going bad? Or my fuel filter dirty in the pump? Any help would be appreciated.

by sputtering you mean like a miss-fire?

there are no CELs just a slight misfire after each shift...from 4th to 5th and 5th to 6th it doesnt do it. Should I get a valve lash? the car has 107k and I dont think it has ever had one.

Sounds like a fuel problem to me, then again why not 5th or 6th? Bump, I'm interested.

I have the same issue in my 03' type s. Ill be digging into it sometime this week/weekend with a scan tool at the honda dealership so i can keep you posted. Im highly doubting a miss fire though, and im pretty positive it has nothing to do with valve adjustment. It feels to me almost like a lack of fuel. But well find out with the scan tool i guess.

cool...please keep me posted. i took it to acura and my tech told me it could be a slight clutch slip but. I think it has something to do with the air/fuel. He told me he'll look to see if there is a updated oem software for the ecu.
