Just wondering what primers u guys using and why?

What about sealers also?

LOL when money is tight, for 2k i use featherfill which is super cheap and transtar ready to spray sealer

Anyone ever use that valspar (Spelling?) vp50?

I know this is a dumd question and all , but once u primer do u need a sealer after?

 

Featherfill isn't really a true 2k primer. It's a polyester primer or "spray bondo". LOL!

Still good stuff if you're doing a whole panel and need it perfect.

 

dupont cromabase 2k urethane. best primer ever, been using if for years and is worth the price. And YES, if your smart youll use sealer over primer before you lay any base.

 

if a cheap job NASON(dupont) sealer or primer is pretty cheap but works good,
good paying job Spies Hecker 5310 primer or 8590 sealer is awesome.

 

2k ppg global. ugh switching to ppg envirobase soon at the shop. not that pumped about it

 

for whatever reason i love the spies stuff, i didnt like ppg or sikkens that much. but to each their own i guess

I use the Kustom shop products from TCP global.

Have had good experiences with them. Once when I took my car in to get primered, I had the painter guess that I paid 60 bucks per quart. But it's only like 36 bucks for the quart and the activator. So, it's good quality for a good price. They have 2k that I got sittin in the closet too.

 

i uses sikkens/akzo nobel products. and sometimes sherwin williams

 

I use plain old shopline 2k and never had a problem. Runs like $35 and some change a quart
