Im putting a 2000 civic si motor in a 96 civic ex. What do i need to do as far as getting the ECU into it? 96-98 OBD2 is different than 99-00 OBD2. The plug configuration is different. This is a very common swap i know so any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
You will need to get an adapter made to use the 99-00 plugs or buy a 96-97 del sol vtec ecu, 97-98 itr ecu, or get an obd1 p30 ecu or p28. You have lots of options. I would prefer getting the obd1 ecu over the crap pt2 ecu.
go for a chipped P28 with the harness converting obd2 to obd1.
someone on this board sells them for about 160-170 (it's in his sig)

Good thing you started with an EX. Its sometimes hard to find 96-98 VTEC harnesses. You could have just ran the VTEC wires, but somepeople don't like to do that. Just do like they said and get the DelSol ECU, 97-98 ITR, or convert to OBD1.
Thanks, J
