Default OBD1 motor in OBD2 car

My honda is missing so bad, the rpm gauge goes crazy back and forth all over the place when i go past 2,000 rpms. It makes me so angry driving to work in the morning, controlling my day even. When I put a new module in the distributor 3 months ago this was so bad the car wouldnt even run. After putting the module in the car was like a different vehicle, it ran PERFECT.

The distributor has a wire spliced onto it to fit into the PBD2 plug. I didnt do this, I got it like that.. got lied to and ****. I'm starting to hate my honda and I love them. Help me.. please.

its not a B series engine. just a stock D15 but I think the 1996 civic is supposed to have a y16.. i dont know anything about cars btw.

CEL is on, didnt check timing.. it runs PERFECT until it warms up.. then that **** starts and it drives me nuts. I checked the wires from the distributor. The ECU is... i dunno. stock? lemme get some #'s and i'll post it

its like jeckyl and hyde.. runs great until it warms up then its so shitty, white smoke.. ****.

Alright I did all that 3 months ago.. i put it on a computer and everything. The car pulled like 10 codes but nothing that had to do with timing. The car only misses when its warmed up, been running for 10 mins or better. After i replaced the module inside the distributor the car ran GREAT after i changed that module out. It was a little black box with a curly spring hanging out of it... it has to be connected to that module. The ECU is i dont even know.. it seems to be the right one cause it ran great for a while.. then the RPM gauge thing started.. then it started cutting out entierly.

The clip on the distributor is rigged to go into and OBD2 wiring harness. The OBD1 clip does not go into the OBD2 harness.. so whoever had it before me cut it and put in that new clip. It makes me sick.. now i hate my car every morning right before work. I just need a new OBD2 motor, ECU, harness...

if s a obd1 1.5 then you should b able to put the stock d16y7 dizzy on it. i know you can put the obd1 d15 dizzy on a y8 n im pretty sure that the y7 n y8 take the same dizzy not 100% sure but im pretty sure so you should b able to put a y7 dizzy on the 1.5. id try that. but it might not even b that. the rpm jumping around thing sound like it could be the rotor in the dizzy is lose. ive seen it where people dont tighten it enough n the screw falls out n the rotor ratles around n the tach jumps n it misses. but it could also me a number of things the whole running like **** when warm sounlds like the cold start switch but id just try puting the y7 dizzy on it n time it with a timming light first. hope that helps

but why did it fix it like automatically when i put a new module in the distributor.. was it cause i tightened the screws or because i replaced the module.
