Sup h-t. Hope you guys can help me out with some info. I have JUST bought a 00 h22a4 COMPLETE swap and going to swap it into my 99 civic EM1. Now I want to get it BAR'ed and legalize the whole car. Questions are

1. Can I use my Si harness or do I have to use the 00 prelude harness?
2. I know I have to use the 00 prelude ecu to even think about passing smog, but HOW would I by pass the immobilizer?
3. Can someone give me a complete list of what i need to install in order to BAR this swap legally? (I did do a search but came up nothing. I only found people BAR'ing type R's and GSR only but haven't found h22a4 yet.) My original Si motor is pretty different than the prelude so I'm really clueless on the h22a4.
4. Please give me advise and/or tips on this please, I hope to get it done and BAR asap. I will definitely do a write up and reviews when I'm done to help others out. THanks in advance

 

I think these are some good questions. I too would like to know the answers. If any H-T members could give some tips, definitely appreciated. Just too bad for me I went the h2b route....

 

I never had much luck finding support on H-T relating to BAR'ing a swap.

Thanks for the super helpful reply. Man, you are right, I couldn't find ANY info regarding this at all. I searched the web and searched h-t . Closest I came to was legalizing the b series but definitely NO LOVE for the h22a4 into em1.. =/ Hopefully someone out there will bring me some light... REALLY want to get it done. My swap is half in the car... just hoping to do the emission stuffs while everything is out.... thanks

 

No one else has any more input on this? So should I just 4get about the idea of BAR'ing my car with this swap? Please help if anyone has info or could point me in the right direction. I'm almost done putting the motor into the car, hoping someone could shine some lights so I can get it done all at once. Thank you. check out the evap sensors cause thats one of the biggest issues ive heard about on the h22 swaps cause the ecu's will throw a code for evap
