Default i want to BAR LEGAL A GSR/ITR IN MY EM1. REF

The only problem that i am stuck on is the immobilizer. What do i do about it since all 98 and up integras came with them? If i just disable it and it gives me an engine check light can i still pass BAR? How can i bypass this? HELP!

00-01 had the immob, 98 did not.
there is no good way to bypass the immob setup, installing the antenna and getting the ECU key'd is the only way to run the 00-01 ECU without the CEL being on.

why are you calling it a GSR/ITR? Is it a C1 block with ITR internals? You may be able to get away with a P72 to pass emissions, depending on what you've converted to ITR spec of course.

install key system in car.
take car and proof of ownership to the engine/ECU (title of wrecked car)
Dealership tech will code your key to the ECU so the car will run.

Regarding the 2000-2001 US ITR ECU (37820-P73-A04) - if someone were to purchase one of these ECUs brand-new from Acura in the US, would it be configured from the factory to not operate properly until it is keyed, or would it function without the immobilizer until someone at the dealership assigns it to a key? I'm only asking because the ECU can be purchased brand-new for about $600 and if a new ECU works without the immobilizer, it might be worth it for passing inspections without having to get the ECU keyed by Acura.

As far as "keying" the ECU goes - does anyone know the part number for the immobilizer key? All I could find was part number 35114-SY8-A01 with a description of "KEY (IMMOBILIZER)(SUB)" for a 2000 Integra Type-R with a price of $15. Is this the only part needed for the immobilizer circuit to function properly in the 2000-2001 US ITR ECU, or are more parts required?

I'm also working-out the details for installing a '97 JDM ITR B18Cr swap in my 2000 Civic Si EM1. For inspection, my vehicle needs to pass a simple OBD2 "System Status" scan of the ECU while the vehicle is idling - no dyno run or tailpipe test. As we all know (correct me if I'm wrong), the JDM ECUs do not support the OBD2 communication protocol and I believe are actually OBD1 internally, so it appears to be "missing" to the inspection terminal which then fails with a "Repair OBD2-port or on-board diagnostics system" response. I'm guessing that purchasing a new 2000-2001 USDM ITR ECU will not get around the immobilizer issue, so I'm probably just going to get a 97-98 USDM ITR ECU (37820-P73-A03) and an OBD2a->OBD2b adapter harness.
