I have some questions for all you guys with a jackson racing supercharger:
1) did you have to put in an aftermarket fuel pump (ie warlboro 255lph)?
2) if you use the supplied fmu did you upgrade the injectors?
3) is the installation pretty straight forward? if not does anyone have the instructions from jackson racing that they wouldnt mind scanning and sharing?

1) Stock fuel pump worked fine for 6 PSI

2) I used the FMU with stock injectors for a while at 6 PSI. Find a JR MAP Controller (I bought one used on ebay for $125) if you are doing that, as they want you to pull a lot of timing without it, which resulted in drivability issues.

I have the 10psi alternator pulley and rc 440 or 450 injectors. Will the stock fuel pump and fmu still work with these? Or do I need to get a tune and a warlboro 255lph fuel pump?

 

You will need a tune for the larger injectors and to run 10 PSI. You don't need the FMU for a tuned car with 440's or 450's.

I don't know that the Walbro pump is necessary, but it's cheap and just takes a few minutes to replace, so I replaced mine.

 

So if I want to run it at the 6psi with the fmu and stock injectors do I need that JR MAP Controller or can I run without it? Im going to stick with 6psi at first since I will have everything for it already, except maybe the Map Controller?

You don't technically need the MAP Controller, but if you read the instructions it tells you to pull something like ten degrees of base timing, which can make your car run like crap off-boost in some situations, like ascending a mild grade. The MAP controller lets you restore most of your base timing and makes the car much more drivable. When I first started with a JRSC, the MAP controller made a huge difference in how much I enjoyed the car.

 

I wont need the map controller once I put the 10psi pulley and chipped and tuned ecu in will I? If not I'm gonna pass on it, but If it is something I sill still need later I might as well get it.

 

I had the 8 psi pulley (actually made 8.5) with stock fuel pump and it worked fine. had some RC 440's, AEM regulator. Fuel pressure set at a stock 40psi - so FPR prob not even needed.

Install is not too bad - there are a few quirks. If you are going to run 10psi I would really recommend getting a aquamist type system or one of the water to air intercooler setups made for them....my intake temps even on 8 psi got pretty up there.

It will pay off in the end, plus you get to enjoy that 10psi a lot sooner.

 

Ok now that I have decided to go with the 10psi setup right away with larger injectors and a chipped ecu/tune, when I install the supercharger do I still need to pull some timing? If so how much?

 

No, your tuned ECU will pull the timing.
