H22 rods F23 crank?

Can these easily be made to work with an F23 crank? they have the right BE bore or "crank pin" but the width is a little greater. I'd like to use these for a G23 build. Why is the BE bore that of an F23 when an H22 has a larger BE bore?

No they can not! Both the BE bore and width are different. Also the piston (if you use H22) will be 4,15 mm out of the hole.
Get some F23 rods for the F23 crank. If you use H22 pistons witch has a compression height of 31 mm the piston will be 1 mm out of the hole, just get a thicker head gasket to compensate.
Also remember that you need a H22 block with 55mm main bearings (the newer H22/A4/7/8)

I'm using H22 Rods in my F22 block. There is a 0.056" difference in length between the F22 and longer H22 rods. The only mods that are being done for me is to move the wrist pin location up. If he can find rods to work, same BE width & BE bore as the F23, the pistons shouldn't be a big problem. Unless he get's way up into the ring lands & groves. But even then I've seen custom piston order forms where they can move those to some extent as well.
I guess it all depends on how much longer the rods are. In this case the H rods are only 0.085" longer than the F23 rods. Can the wrist pin be moved up to equal out that amount without requiring major reconstructive surgery.... I don't know myself, but I have read in another thread that there is a shop that says it can be done.

He probably wouldn't be able to find off the shelf pistons that would work. But what about a set of custom forged pistons?

I appreciate this post as I will be running forged pistons. If I have to go custom that's ok but I can save a lot by using H22 rods because there are plenty of forged ones around 300, vs 765 like i just spent on my F23 Maxi Lights

If you look at Probes website the Honda rods are not listed in correlation to any specific engine code. And they all have 1.890 BE bores to start with. I would assume they do that so people can pick variable length rods and have the BE bore machined to match any crank larger than 1.890..... makes sense doesn't it?
For that matter if you don't want to run the H length rods (5.636") you could opt for the 1.890 BE bore 5.580" rods. Probe #12040. They will still require the width to be machined though.

Humm that is strange? I think that Probe maybe have a type error on there site? It seems strange that they would make a rod, that doesn’t fit any Honda crank without machine work (well it fits a B16/18 crank, but the pin diameter is wrong and it is way to long).
If the Probe rod BE bore info is correct, it will fit a F23 Crank with machine work and custom pistons, but if the reason to use these rods was to save money, I think that you very quickly use the 3-400$ you save bye getting the Probe rods.
A H22/H23/F22 spec Rod, does not fit on a F23 crank.
