Icon2 OBD0 TO OBD1, full convertion

Hi Guys,

I'm into the conversion of my EF9 to OBD1:

I'm looking trough the whole process, the conversion is composed of:

*ECU obd0--------->obd1 (p28,p30)
*Distributor obd0---------->obd1

Obviously we need the whole conversion harness story...etc etc.

NOW, other than that, I heard about the O2 sensor conversion which is different?

Is someone able to give me a full list of what we need to do to proceed the full conversion properly?

Thanks

Obd0 to obd1 harness

Obd1 ecu for your motor (chipped would be a good idea).

Obd1 or Obd2 distributor

Obd0 to obd1 distributor jumper harness if you are running an obd1 distributor so you don't have to re-wire your distributor plug.

O2 sensor: You may use a 4 wire obd1 civic/integra style sensor or disable the o2 using a chipped ecu.

Hope this helps.

Warning... this is a thread jack...

Hey Jon. I tuned one of your customers cars tonight. He bought a base map from you and had it shipped out here to so cal. Your base map was really close even though you never got to see the car. It was super rich in boost but thanks to that basemap I had the car street tuned in under one hour. I did not touch anything except for fuel and timing. No injector offsets or battery tables.

just wanted to say thanks.

Tom,

Glad to hear the positive remarks! It means a lot to hear them from a fellow tuner.

Ok anyway, I would explain my situation:

I m rebuilding my B16 going for turbo, I'm using a pr3 ECU with a blue emanage and I'm still wondering how to go for my ECU...

I'm going for precision 525cc injectors, I checked on my car that there isn't any O2 sensor at all since I bought the car with the previous setup? this sounds a bit funny even though my fuel consumption was still ok with my previous B20...

any advice will be good to hear.

PS> mtber, I checked your website, really good price.

You would want to eliminate the emanage system & use the obd1 chipped engine computer to tune the vehicle.

Maybe you don't have good enough english skills to fully understand the miriad of obd0-to-obd1 conversion writeups and websites on here & google that have fully documented what is required to be done?

Given its multi-port fuel injection to start (4 injectors), all that's really needed is the o2 sensor wires added, the distributor wires/connector altered, and a pre-made plug-in ecu harness added. If the engine & ecu harnesses were hacked apart to add the emanage system, you'll have to return it to stock before starting. The obd0-to-obd1 conversion uses 99% of the stock wires and connectors.

BTW if you plan on keeping the e-manage, there is virtually ZERO benifit converting to OBD1. People only do that to use the obd1 ecu, which has far more tuning options availible for it. E-manage is usually considered a bandaid, not a tuning option.

Thanks guy for your input.

I finally decided to go with my chipped pr3, I'll use BRE to datalog and tune my engine.

I just want to confirm with you guys, in a case of obd1 conversion, the 2 added wires going to the o2 sensor are coming from the conversion harness, right?
