Default timing belt

were resetting a vtec head onto a b20 block after rebuilding the head. how much deflection should the belt have when tensioned properly? we couldnt get it right today, and i didnt like the way the belt looked, so i sent my kid away to buy a new belt and tensioner.. we will try again tommrow. sorry but our chiltons manuel really sucks.

thanx, i found that thread and read it this morning. havent tried it today yet. the chilton book said nothing about tightening the tensioner to keep it loose, but i will try it. the belt always seems loose between the cam wheels when the engine stops spinning . is this normal?
question if you dont mind. the guy talks about a knock sensor, the pic shows 3 things next to the oil filter mount. is the knock sensor the top one?

there should be no more then 1/2 inch of slack on the timing belt....and about the knock sensors...its either the top blue one or the green one..not sure on that...my gsr only has one sensor around there so its much easier to identify...
