Default Manifold Exhaust Studs

I pulled the header off for the transmission installed and soon to be turbo manifold install.

The studs looked BRAND NEW. Mint in fact..I was amazed. I've heard stories of them breaking or the nuts backing off.

I am curious if I keep the studs, but get locking nuts..ideas on where to find em?

Thanks

Where to find the nuts? The honda dealer... I used longer oem studs and lock nuts on the EM1 with no problems.

Many aftermarket manifolds are thicker... In which case I would recommend new studs.

you wont have any issues reusing the original parts as long as the manifold flange is not thicker. if it is, then get the extended studs and use the oem nuts.

I've just read several guys complaining on s2ki about their manifold nuts backing off...I was just trying to prevent the problem before it happens.

That shouldn't happen if you use the proper torque settings that Honda specifies.
