Default SS plate

does any one have 5/8' or 1/2' thick 304 Stainless plate
has to be atleast 14 inches long and 4 inches wide

scrap or something... anyone?

That's not really scrap .... that's a flange waiting to be cut. I could sell you some from around the shop but honestly after shipping you'd be better off hitting up a local metal shop of even a local scrap yard.

get some at a local metal supplier. do not get it at a scrap yard. they won't have any idea on the grade of stainless and you may end up with something you can't use.

cant be too much money... most people sell stainless flanges for ~$100 or so already cut and ready to go.. so figure ~$70 for the metal?

thats not exactly $$$$$$$$

Costs more than $30 in machine time and tooling for a 4-6 cyl flange. I would expect $40 and under for the piece you are looking for unless your local metal by the foot depot really bends you over, which they very well may for a small part like this.

should'nt be more then 50 or 60 dollars for a plate the size im looking for.

I buy all my metals from Alro steel, as they are local... I believe SS is going for $2.75 a lb as of last week, so you would be looking at maybe $25-30. I don't think that size plate would run more then 10lbs?
