I have a 93' hatch...just swapped out the rear drums for the rear discs..not done due to the fact that i was missing the damn bolt that holds the hose to the caliper...
my question is that when i do finish this out...will i still need to buy the 40/40 valve a booster and master cylinder....will the pedal b spongy...

 

It would be beneficial if you did, at least with the prop valve. If not, then the front brakes would engage first and the rears might not.

 

u thinks so...i thought theyd be good since the front is stock...im still getting the stuff..but i ned the car now...work purposes

 

you only need the prop valve. the pedal wont be that bad. i have run this mod with the stock 95 dx civic booster and M/C, and on a 91 CRX as well. but i can say that doing the 1" M/C and booster upgrade is worth it to me. also upgrading to ss/kevlar lines from the calipers to the hard line will increase the firmess of the pedal (i still need to do this) its not a need, but a want.

 

so i can run the stock prop valve for now...till saturday...then switch the valve out...i should be ok...i wont have to pump the brakes would i

 

just that long you will be ok. just make sure you bleed the brakes in the right order.

 

yea done ive done that...just that this is my first disc swap...went pretty smooth...except for the hose bolt im missing...thanx a lot...just need to bleed it and that should be it for now til i get the valve

I did the disc swap on my 96 hatch and left the drum prop valve for about a year now with no problems. No lock up issues or anything.

 

yea i left the drum valve on aswell the guy never came thru....feels great...the job was ez...but the autoparts store kept giving me the wrong parts...till i went to kragens by my house on of the guys that goes to the races hooked pme up...we pieced everything so...i have brakelines from a del sol and ebrake from an acura...cars is up and running

If your doing the rear only. The stock 3030 should be fine. Now if you decide to do the front also 10.4in rotor. I recommand installing a 4040.
