hasport mounts..gsr in an eg. MY WHOLE CAR RATTLES!how can i stop the rattles!?
well when i got a gsr motor swapped into my eg. other than all the motor problems im having.
my main pet peeve or w/e is all the random vibrations and noises my car now makes. things rattling all throughout my dash.
i have a 92 civic hatchback.
and the glove box rattles its *** off. i have to drive with it open.
the other main thing that vibrates crazy loud is the whole trim piece on my dash thats around the climate control/cd player. its like the plastic seperate piece held onto the leather dash. is there anyway to tighten it or make it hold on or something? because it rattles like no other and when i push pressure on it, it stops. its nice to be faster than my old d series but it makes the ride VERY uncomfortable and annoying and makes me pissed off at my car.
anyone else had similar problems when they got a new motor and stiffer motor mounts and any hints or suggestions on what to do or use to make things soften up a bit?
i know its a honda, but damn...i cant take it any longer. haha. makes me want my d series again
thanks!

are all the mounts tight and bolted on properly? is the any part of the engine hitting the frame directly? shift linkage... exhaust?
no its just that these motor mounts hold the motor so tight like a race car it makes the whole car vibrate. everythings tight. its not anything under the car vibrating its just now that its a bigger motor being held in tight with these mounts everything vibrates... everyone tells me when u put good mounts in thats what happens but i just wanted to see if anyone else here had to deal with all their interior parts/dash vibrating and what they used to pad it up and find the vibrations.
and if i can tighten or make the plastic dash piece around the climate control tighter to the dash because it stops vibrating when i push pressure on it

they are Hasport mounts.. They are stiff as hell.. They are going to rattle.. Almost any motor you swap into a light eg will rattle unless they are stock motor mounts. Get used to it its normal

Why doesnt anyone use the stock mounts and just put in some energy/suspension inserts. Everyone likes wasting money on the bling rattle me to **** mounts.
take apart the mirror. There is a metal piece in there that holds/prevents the ball for the mirror from moving. I bent it forward so it puts more preassure the mirror.

Keep your hasports and just swap the rear one out for the OEM one. I did this on my GSR swapped ej8 and no rattle. DO IT NOW!! *arnold voice*
yeah and that's why the whole car rattles like a motha****a so if you want to drive a race car around all day keep the hasport, if you don't want to go insane keep the front ones and put the oem rear back in. Just keep the rear hasport around for when u want/need it.
