install mil-spec harness now car wont start
i got a 97 dx hatch with b series vtec swap..when i bought the car it had alot of cuts in the engine harness. even the ecu plus were ahcked up because they try to run wires for vtec and they didnt do it right so i got a replacement milspec harness from rywire and i install the harness and plugged everything in. before i swap out the harness i had no vtec and 4 check engine codes..after i changed the harness all of my check engine code were gone but now the car wont start..it would turn over but wouldnt start. i was wondering if the furl injector plugs had a certain order that plugs in? also my dizzy that came on the car had a splice wire into it and it lead into the firewall so i took off that wire as well. it was splice into the big thick blue wire on the dizzy. also anyone who is familiar with the milspec harness it has 2 wire on the harness that should go to the fusebox 1 yellow and 1 red on my recepit that i got from rywire it says to run those 2 wires into the fuse box. when i try running both it would spark but when i just run the yellow wire it doesnt. i have no idea where to start right now. can anyone help me out?
The wire coming off the dizzy most likely was for a tach. The injectors will most likely go in order, longest to the furthest away and work back from that. As for the fuse box im sure they sent you some sort of instructions if not contact them and ask. Without seeing it i cant say for sure. i do know you shouldnt just be hooking them up to anything without knowing for sure.
no instructions came with my purchase..it was hand written on my recepit that those wires should go to my fusebox..also could it be that maybe i have the plugs on the wrong sensor for map and tps
check the car again today and im not gettting spark and its not shooting any gas..and i ran a direct wire to the fuel pump and it worked so the fuel pump inst bad.
i would call rywire and talk to them. you may not have something hooked up right.
and how come your ordered the mil-spec might i ask? thats a 500 dollar harness. why not just send in your harness and have them repin the plugs to work??
again, try calling rywire and talk to them.

i put the stock harness back in and it started right up without any problems..the reason why i got it is because my ecu plus had a bunch of cut wires and the splice so many wires on the engine harness..i planned on doing a semi wire tuck this year but i dont think thats going to happen
thats a little weird that the old one starts up and the new one doesnt I always tell people check your ground wires. in your case I cant tell without being there
i made sure i hook up all the grounds..and yes it is weird how the stock harness would work the the rywire harness doesnt
spoke with peter from rywire and he told me that i prob. switched up the map and tps sensor thats why the car wont start..just by doing that is that the reason why i wasnt getting spark or gas?
can anyone confirm that if the map and tps sensor is switch around the car wont start? i wanna make sure before i go and try to install the mil spec harness again
****!!! im prob just gonna sell the milspec and get a 96-98 harness with vtec..what about injectors if the plugs are switched around would it still shot gas?
Correct me if Im wrong, but the car starts, correct? When you sent it back I double checked it and all was fine. Your second attempt at install it worked, correct? Problem was not harness

Where can I go for help with my rywire mil spec harness install? I always feel stupid when talking to them, because they're so advanced...and i'm so...not. I'm just confused on the instructions about tapping the extra ecu plug wires? It says to tap them into the stock positions, but as far as I knew the mil spec harness was a replacement all the way from the ecu to the engine bay. It has ecu plugs all the way to the H22 alternator? So what do I tap these extra ecu wires to...the mil spec ecu plugs (would have thought they would have done that for me) or the stock ecu plugs (didn't think I was even using this harness at all) Please help if you can!!!???
