I can get 2 rockford-fosgate 12's in a sealed box for 240.00. I can get a rockford-fosgate amp for 160, but it pushes 160 watts. Is that enough to power the 2 12's and still hit hard ?I also was wondering if rockford-forsgate subs are good. I have a 96 teg hatch if that helps. I want it to hit hard, will it?

Thanks

i dont think 160 is enough... it will distort.. better to overpower than underpower.. The rf subs are ok.... but their old amps work awesome.... since they started to mass produced quality has gone down...

i don't think 160 watts can power two 12s thats only 80 watts per channel, that amp can power regular speakers but for two 12s i'd go at least 800 watts

With 160 watts you will end up blowing the subs. Because 160 will not be loud enough and you will crank your deck up, which will send a clipped signal to the subs and therefore blow them. Better to get a poewrful amp and keep the gain down.

If it is the the normal Punch subs not HE's or anything else 160 Watts should be fine. Is it a party pak or something like that??

not enought watts it will sound like crap and not be near what you want
with sound the spk's are alright i personaly like JLAudio though the amp u need will probably need to be pushing give or take ten watts of the rms of the spks better over ten depending on the box need the right amount of air space look on rockfordfosgate. com to find the needed air space and rms for you spks
it shuold sound good in your car hatches are more open so the sound flows through more freely also you may want to look into replacing your factory mids and invest in some highs then dynomat the hole think to eleminate ratteling
