Icon2 Problem and engine questions

Recently i posted about the timing belt, but i also want to make sure its the timing belt. I believe the belt is missing a tooth or two, but i also realize when i crank the ignition, the belt only vibrates and the camgear hardly move or didn't move at all. Any feedback on what's going on? it seem's like the camgear don't attemp to spin, or is it because the belt is done? any suggestion would help! thanks. and if i do get it replace, any price estimation?

sounds like your engine is locked up.

a bad timing belt typically doesnt make it so the car wont turn over. if it was missing a tooth or two that woudnt necessarily make it not start either... more then 2 teeth are in contact with the cam gear at any given point.

if your crank is turning over and your cams are not then you have a problem..... i have seen a belt loose a few teeth and then strip all the teeth down at the crank gear.... causing it to just spin around the belt....

any resource or any way of knowing the actual problem? is there any test or diagnostics that i can do to check? So, if the cams are not moving, does that mean the engine is done? Let me know please thanks!

if the crank is turning and the cams are not then yeah the motor is....... but if your crank is not turning then either you have a starter problem... locked up motor.... or possible A/C, Alternator, or power steering pump locked up...... but if your missing teeth off of your timing belt my bet is there is something wrong with the motor itself..

Some people have the same incident. I was wondering if there is going to be a lot of damage to the engine. People said at a lower speed, or not accelerating at all might prevent any engine damage. But the i'll give the update on it this weekend. Any other suggestion? Could it still be saved? i've been researching and there could be a lot of alternative resource on what could be the problem. if the piston does hit the valve, do i just need to replace the head?

put a new timing on and also a new water pump. everything dead top center. I cranked the ignition and the car doesn't start. Sounds like its not firing up. The cams turn and everything else seems to be in place. everything is good, but the car still won't start. I'm guessing its the valve, but not sure. Any suggestion?
