I tried searching and couldn't find anything on here regarding this strange problem I'm having.

I have a 99 integra LS coupe.

If I try to use the power lock to unlock the car from the inside, it will immediately lock back up again by itself. If I try to use the power lock to lock the door, the door handle starts to go back from open to close by itself.

No matter what I do, I cannot open the driver side door from the inside.
The only way I can open the driver side door is if I hold open the inside door handle, and use my other hand to open it from the outside handle while the inside handle is held open.

I took off the door panels and everything looks like it's connected correctly from what I can tell.

If I close the door from the outside, it will always stay locked. The only way I can open the door from the outside is if I turn the key to the right and hold it there while I'm pulling the handle.

My next step is to open the pasenger side door panel to see if something it making the locking system from working right from that side but it's like 0 degrees out right now so I figured I'd ask if anyone here with a teg has had this sort of problem?

 

I don't know how different the DA door handles are to the DC, but thats what happened in mine. There are these metal rods that run through to the door handles . theres like two of them, one on top and one on the bottom. The top one probably came off on yours (if its like this) thats what happened on my passenger side.

 

im pretty sure theres a TSB for this problem. Its the actuator for the lock/unlock function

 

Interesting.. does it affect specifically the 99 integras?

I've owned 94 and 97 integras and they all had a trunk release from the inside.. this 99 only has a gas door release but no trunk release.. odd.

 

i had a 00 LS and 01 gsr and they both had trunk release latchs. thats really odd that yours does not. What model teg do you have

 

x2 deff a lock actuator going bad or bad. Sometimes u can pull them out a grease them up and get them to work for a while longer but most the time u mite as well go get urself a new one.

 

I have a 99 LS Integra.
I thought it was odd to not have the latch either because I used to have a 94 RS and it had one.

So if this is a TSB issue, can someone link me to the TSB please?

 

Can anyone shed some light on the TSB if there is one?

Also, could a faulty rear trunk opening mech cause the whole power lock system to malfunction? It seems like it is somehow related because when I try to unlock my rear hatch with my key, it also does the rapid open close action of the driver side door handle from the inside... it's really hard to explain.
