Default auto to 5spd dc using civic

i have been researching and reading up on Automatic to Manual 5spd conversions. I feel that i am ready to tackle this project.

My situation is that I have a 94 5spd civic hatchback that I was thinking about using as the 5spd donor. The car doing the conversion is a 98 integra ls auto.

I was just looking to confirm if I can use everything off the civic i.e. pedal set, clutch master cylinder, hardlines, hoses, and slave.

Thanks H-T.

yes. the whole hydraulic system from the pedal set to the slave cylinder will work (is exactly the same). however, you will need a transmission w/ mount, linkage, shifter, rear t-bracket, & frame rail bracket from a 94-01 integra or 99-00 civic si

alright thanks this is all i needed! the hatch had a b series in there so it basically had the remainder of the parts.

i believe the frame rail bracket, correct me if im mistaken, is the welded bracket for the tranny top mount correct? well if that is the case i do not believe i need it due to using DC auto to man conversion mount from innovative.

thank you for your help so far.

your correct. the Auto chassis transmission mount is welded/position higher then Manual chassis...I know, I also did a AT-2-MT conversion. Worth the money and labor!

use these links to further your confidence for the conversion. I did a good week of research before tackling the actual conversion.

How-to for a AT-2-MT conversion with PICS!

Parts needed to do the conversion for an EG...the parts are basically similar, a few slight differences though.

'94 - '01 Integra and '92 - '95 civics use the same upper transmission mount and pocket mount. '99 - '00 civic Sis are completely different (completely different upper transmission mount, bolts to frame instead of tranny, uses a different bracket that bolts to the top of the tranny instead of being welded to the frame rail) rear T bracket must come from a '94 - '01 5 speed integra, or '94 - '97 Del Sol Vtec. (the '99 - '00 civic Si version is too short) Shift linkage must come from a '94 - '01 integra, or '99 - '00 civic Si. The '94 - '97 Del Sol Vtec linkage does not fit its too long IIRC.

I don't understand why people recommend the rear T-bracket....I'm still using my AT one and it's holding up good....can you clarify 94EG8?

the only thing that is changed is the transmission. I believe the only thing that is needed is the manual intermediate shaft to bolt to the block and connect to the transmission and the AT-2-MT mount to hold the transmission up...concerning the actual swap.

Somewhat. I can't speak for the B-series, but D-series T-brackets are identical between the automatic and manual versions. (i've personally retained the automatic T-bracket on a couple of auto to manual swaps where I was using a D-series tranny I don't know if this is also true for the B-series If it is thats great, it means we have a new source for B-series rear T-brackets. If someone can confirm one way or the other based on personal expirence that would be great.

Theres also the front lower transmission bracket assuming you plan to run torque mounts, but yeah, not all that much changes.

To OP: you're pretty much set if the hatch had a B-series. just need a saw now to cut the wind plate off the AT chassis. Wire the reverse lights either thru the firewall or thru the driver side engine harness. A MT ECU is needed too but I assume your swapping everything over from the civic.

To 94EG8: I know for sure the a 99-00 Si T-bracket is different. as for 3rd Gen Integras...they seem the same. but we're getting off topic now.

and no I'm not using the torque mounts, the rubber is cracked and old so I just have 3 stiff mounts.

Thanks for the link with pics! I am in no way mechanically inclined at all. I just needed to brush over some iffy parts. That DIY with pics will come in handy.

I have heard of people still using their automatic intermediate shafts. I have a manual one readily available. so, I will compare and try to take pictures.

Yes I'm only using the Bseries shift linkage, the clutch hydraulic system and pedal set from the hatch. I do a lot of swaps for friends so I usually keep parts in exchange for labor knowing times are harsh (i have 3 Ls longblocks now within less than a year) hahah. So, i have tons of parts.

This particular DC was showing symptoms of a blown head gasket after 'suddenly' overheating. The transmission was shifting late. It was due for a conversion. So he bought a b20 and i am letting him borrow one of my ls transmissions until he can come up with funds to get a shorter geared tranny.

THANKS FOR EVERYONE'S HELP SO FAR!
