Default swapping auto trans for manual trans...help!!!

ok ive been asking around and i heard that you will need a new wiring harness when swapping the auto trans with a manual trans???

What year civic? '92 - '95s use identical engine harnesses between automatic and manual civics. (underdash harness is different though) '96 - '00 use different harnesses, although you can make the automatic harness work.

its a 95...so the wiring harness in the engine compartment is the same and the one under the dash is different....where is it located and which one will i have to get

The underdash harness runs from the headlights back to the ECU and under the dash to about the front of the doors. Its a royal pain in the *** to remove (requires removing the steering column, dash, heater core, A/C evaperator core if the car has A/C etc. Generally you just perform a couple of minor modifications to the automatic harness rather than repace it. You need to move the wiring for the backup lights and deal with the starting circuit, see my thread on the starting circuit here ---> https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...48557#34801456
