automatic harnesses are backwards compatible with manual, manual harnesses will not work with automatics. there are cluster, shifterm and 1 auto trans wire that is on the ecu.

When I did my automatic to manual transmission swap several years ago, I left this out. I can freely start my car even if it's in gear. It isn't a big deal for me personally, as I never leave the car in gear and simply out of habit always press the clutch in before starting it.

you would wire the clutch safety switch into your neutral safety switch. extend the wires about 18 inches. i always recomend this.

alright guys i put in the new harness and the motor and not the ignition switch doesnt work to start the car it turns everything else on but doesnt start the motor i started it with a starter button

ok here is what i have found the two wire clip on the driver side of the car that comes from the ignition switch on controls the distributor signal(black/yellow strip) and the other is the starter signal(black/white strip)

so i went under the dash and looked for these wires and i cant see where the starter signal wire goes into the wire clip the mates the the one that goes through the firewall

does anyone have any advise or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated

start probing for your no start issue. light tester or volt meter.

thanks man this should help me i think it may be the starter cut relay because i used a auto harness in a manual car so since one of those diagrams says starter cut relay m/t so its probably not plugged in but i think im just gonna use a starter button because its gonna be a track car for the most part
